I really like how the decorative marks and especially the crest on this bird make it feel much more folky than formal

Photos document the couple of spots where beading is lost or loose

and while not pushing do think it would be especially wonderful hung in a grouping with at least one of the other two paintings from the same series I have in the shop (see last photo to see what I mean)

which I would guess date from the the 1940s or earlier

but coming together now just right

Much Used Old Pine Stool with Painterly Surface turned wooden handle I really like how theI'm always looking for good old stools but am having a particular moment with them right now in addition to being the one type of furniture I can easily manage to ship (!), they're also useful things in an endless number of ways, including making great pedestals for other things, and they seem, as much as almost anything else, to wear their histories on their proverbial sleeves. This one has certainly had quite a life, which I might guess included
